Home / How it works

The process

No guesswork. Just a plan that fits.

Here is exactly what happens from the first message to your first month of training, so there are no surprises.

Step 01

The free consultation

A relaxed conversation, either on the phone or in person. We cover what you want to change, what you have tried before, your injury history and how many days a week you can realistically train. At the end I tell you honestly whether I can help. If I am not the right fit, I will say so.

Step 02

The assessment

Before you lift anything meaningful, I screen how you move. Squat, hinge, push, pull, plus shoulders and hips. This is where we find the old knee issue or the stiff back, and it decides which variations you start with.

Step 03

Your programme

I write a plan for your body, your goal and your actual calendar. It is not a template. If you can train twice a week, it is built for twice a week and it still works.

Step 04

Coached sessions

Every session is one to one in a private setup in Cuckfield. I watch every rep, fix technique as we go, and add load only when you have earned it. You will always know why you are doing something.

Step 05

Nutrition that survives real life

No banned foods and no plans you abandon in a fortnight. We work on protein, portions and the handful of habits that actually move the needle, built around eating out, travel and family meals.

Step 06

Review and adjust

We track progress with more than the scales: strength numbers, how you feel, how clothes fit, energy levels. When life gets busy the plan flexes rather than collapsing.

My job is not to make you dependent on me. It is to get you strong, teach you what you are doing, and make sure it still works when life gets in the way.

FAQ

Common questions about the process

How long is each session?

Sessions are typically an hour, including warm up and any mobility work you need.

How often should I train?

Two or three sessions a week suits most people. We decide together based on your schedule and recovery.

Do I need to be fit before I start?

No. That is genuinely the point of coaching. We start where you are.

What do I do between sessions?

You get a simple plan for the days in between, which might be walking targets, a short home session or nothing at all early on.
